C.R.
Jackson, Inc.
was founded in 1972 by Richard Jackson with guidance from Mark
Stewart of M.A. Stewart Grading of Charlotte, NC and a $1,500.00
loan on an insurance policy. Richard and Sean Walker, one of
the current Vice Presidents of the company, began doing work
for homebuilders in Columbia at Mr. Stewarts suggestion.
Shortly after the move to South Carolina, the decision was made
to expand the company in to the grading business. It remained
as a clearing, grading, and utilities contractor until 1989.
This is the year that C.R. Jackson purchased the asphalt plant
that is still used by the company today. When the asphalt plant
was purchased, C.R. Jacksons role as a total site contractor
began. From its first million dollar job in 1979 to where the
company is today as an employer of more than 100 people, it
is obvious that C.R. Jackson, has played a vital role in the
development of central South Carolina.
C.R. Jackson is still based
on its original premise "Its the people."
Our associates, employees, customers, suppliers, and community
are still the most important factor in our business continuation.
Fair, honest, dependable relationships are our first order of
business.
